This palm came to us buried under a skirt of dead fronds with the trunk completely hidden. We stripped it back, cut the boots into an even diamond pattern and shaped the crown wide enough to keep the palm healthy.
A neglected palm also holds a surprising amount of dry material — worth thinking about before September. Most palms are a one-visit job, and several in the same yard cost less per tree than doing them one at a time.

Most tree companies treat palms as a side job. Palms are the core of ours.
The tall skinny ones lining half the streets in Corona. Dead frond skirt removed, seed stalks taken before they drop and sprout everywhere, and the trunk skinned clean if you want that finished look.
The big pineapple-cut palms. Fronds shaped evenly, boots trimmed to a clean diamond pattern, and tools sterilized between every palm so we're not carrying fusarium wilt from one yard to the next.
Fast growers that drop heavy seed pods and brown fronds twice a year. We clear the pods before they stain your driveway and pull dead fronds without cutting into green growth the palm still needs.

One thing we won't do: over-trim. A palm cut back to a narrow point looks tidy for a month and then grows back weaker, with a pinched trunk that never recovers. We trim to a wide, healthy crown and tell you honestly when a palm doesn't need work yet.

Luis has trimmed trees multiple times and removed three more for me. I will continue to use him. Mexican fan palms usually once a year. Queen palms twice, because they drop seed pods and fronds faster. Canary Island date palms once a year is plenty. If your palm hangs over a pool or a walkway you may want it more often just to keep the mess down.
It depends on height, access and how much has to come out — a fifteen-foot queen palm in an open front yard is a different job from a forty-foot fan palm behind a pool. That's why the estimate is free and in writing before we start. Doing several palms in one visit brings the per-tree price down noticeably.
